Long Story Short Award Contest

Long Story Short Award Contest

Do you want to see your writing in the Short Story machine on the 1st floor?

Starting September 29th, Short Édition invites students to submit their short stories of 7,500 characters or less for their annual inter-university contest, the Long Story Short Award 2025.

This year there will be a theme chosen for the contest which will be unveiled at the contest launch on September 29th.

Through this contest, whether you win a prize or not, your work will be published online alongside those of fellow students from campuses worldwide, creating a bridge between thousands of students around the world. In addition, Short Édition will be considering all submissions for international publication in their 500+ Dispensers worldwide.

Submissions open on September 29th at 09:00 a.mEST and close on November 2nd at 11:59 p.mEST.

All submitted works will be published on the contest webpage on November 3rd. The public will be invited to participate in the selection of the public winner by voting for their favorite story from November 3rd through November 23rd. During this time, the editorial team will select one jury’s winner and one jury’s coup de cœur (jury's favorite).

The winners will be announced on December 3rd!

The jury’s winner and the public winner will be awarded $550 each. The jury’s coup de cœur (jury's favorite) will be awarded $400.
