The high cost of course materials continue to be a barrier to students success nationwide. Even with well below average pricing at CSULB, our students often opt to forgo required materials altogether despite a recognition that doing so impacts their learning. As faculty, you have the power to greatly impact the amount of money students will have to spend on their course materials. In this workshop you will learn how to identify and locate Open Educational Resources (OER) and other cost-savings options for use in your courses. You will also hear student survey data on course materials as well as see the progress our campus has made thus far. The aim of this workshop is to increase awareness of these issues and to provide you with solutions for addressing student needs.
