Author's Rights Workshop In-Person
As an author of a published article, you probably want the widest readership of your research output and the most impact within your scholarly community. Questions about rights to distribute the final published version for classroom use, online archiving or sharing with colleagues should be considered. In this workshop, we will take a close reading of the Publisher’s Agreement (often titled as “Copyright Transfer Agreement”) for specific journals in various academic disciplines. After a discussion of rights the author retains in the agreement, we will explore SPARC Author Addendum, a legal instrument that modifies the Publisher’s Agreement and help authors to retain key rights to their publication. The aim of the workshop is to increase the audience’s awareness of Author’s Rights.
