ORSP Funding for Open Access Publishing In-Person
Come learn about the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs' (ORSP) pilot program for support of open access (OA) publishing by CSULB faculty. ORSP estimates that at CSULB, OA publications currently account for 10% of annual faculty publications. Yet some OA publications require article processing charges (APC) which can be prohibitively expensive for many faculty. To address this concern, ORSP has set aside $20,000 to support research publications by CSULB faculty. Requests for funding will be evaluated by the University Research Advisory Committee (URAC). This workshop will cover the funding request evaluation criteria, particularly those related to journal/venue quality, and how to request funds. Dr. Barbara Taylor, Associate Dean for Research in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, will deliver opening remarks.
